Shingles Vaccination

The shingles vaccine is given as an injection into the upper arm. Unlike the flu vaccine, you will only need to have the vaccination once and you can have it at any time of the year.

The shingles vaccine is suitable for patients aged 50 years and is expected to reduce your risk of getting shingles. If you do go on to have the disease, your symptoms may be milder and the illness shorter. Two doses are required and the price listed is for each dose.

If you turned 65 on or after 1st of September 2023, you will be entitled to an NHS funded shingles vaccine with your GP. You will remain eligible up until your 80th birthday.
